Throughout the month of January, I will be featuring snow and ice themed activities for kids. Here in Texas, the chances for real life experience with freezing weather conditions are rare. I want to provide my daughter with fun experiences with the cold stuff even if we miss out on building a real snow man. Here's how we played with snowballs.
I brought down a laundry basket of all of the white socks in our home. I had rolled each pair into a ball.

We carried snowballs with tongs.

We kicked snowballs.

We balanced them on a spoon.

Lovely idea. We'll have to do it with dirty snowballs because everyone on my house wears black and grey socks.
LOL, at the idea of dirty snowballs, The Monko. I hope you have fun with it!
FUN! Love socks as snowballs!
Oh My God I love this. I mean, really. We are SO doing this tomorrow. I hope hubby doesn't mind me abusing the elastic in his socks like this, lol. Oh well, as long as the kids are learning and having fun, he's down for the cause & will gladly take one for the team. Did I mention I love this? Tweeting it now;^)
Melissa - Thank you for coming by here!
Kim - Yes a little loose elastic is worth it for good exercise! So glad you loved this!
Hilarious! Although, I haven't had much luck with my son and projectiles lately. We've been to the ER twice and he had two black eyes and stitches over Christmas. What's the approximate velocity of those sock snowballs? haha! Great idea!
This is such a great idea! We don't get much snow here in NC either! Thanks for hosting the blog hop. I'm glad you liked my DIY sprinkler.
C&C - Oh my, you poor Momma. I don't think that sock snowballs could cause skin breakage, but don't blame me if you try it and end up with an injury. ;)
Kelly - Thank you for stopping by here! I hope you have fun if you try sock snowballs with your kids! I used to live in NC.
Fabulous idea. My girls had a real snowball fight today, but how they would love this maybe even more. Thanks for linking up on Monday Madness.
Awesome! An hour of fun like that is the best. I love activities that just take over with kids. What a good mom you are.
Brooke - Nothing better than a real snowball fight, but sock snowballs are good for staying warm and dry.
Laura - Ahhh, Thanks, Laura! A good active hour of fun is win for both of us. She gets her exercise and falls asleep easier at night. =)
My kids would think a snowball fight with socks is great! We'll have to do this soon. Thanks for sharing at AfterSchool.
