Egg Carton Math - Tinkerlab Creative Challenge

Monday, April 9, 2012

We are participating in Tinkerlab's Creative Challenge along with many other fabulous bloggers.  She challenged us to get creative with egg cartons with our children.  Miss E and I used our egg cartons to creatively explore math concepts.

She created geometric shapes with egg cartons.

She made patterns inside egg cartons.

She measured toys with them.

She discovered the missing numbers in a number line.

Miss E compared sizes by figuring out which toys were smaller, bigger, or the same size as an egg carton cup.

Photobucket

She explored the concept of odd and even numbers.

And Miss E built a preschooler's classic creation - a tower.

Definitely a good idea to do something constructive with the dyed egg carton. The measuring activity is cool - I never would of thought about that!

I love the creativity! Awesome and perfect for the kids! I really loved the materials you put to complete this. We did an Egg Carton Color Sorting Activity game out of the same materials you used. You should check it out! :)
