June 29th is
International Mud Day - a day to celebrate kids enjoying the outdoors by playing in mud. To inspire you with a muddy idea, we played
princess mud tea party.
All you need to throw your very own muddy royal tea party is a mud patch, fancy clothes, assortment of cups, containers, shovels, and spoons. Miss E invited her princess figurines to the tea party too. Add a shaker bottle of
glitter for a touch of sparkle that all princesses love.
If you've got a girl (or boy) who isn't a huge fan of muddy play, perhaps, a royal invitation to a mud patch that sparkles while wearing a ball gown is just the nudge she needs to embrace mud because...
For those who are concerned we may have ruined a perfectly beautiful dress for this activity, the gown is back to it's mud free state. We sprayed it down with the hose after playing and put it in the washing machine right away. I can't guarantee your mud won't stain, so only use clothes that you are okay with getting dirty.
I love to see other kids getting messy in mud. Here are a couple other muddy ideas featured at the last Outdoor Play Party. A Mud Patch at Learning for Life
A Mud Hole at Like Mama Like Daughter
I'd love to hear how you played with mud this week to celebrate International Mud Day. Now, it's your turn to share your muddy play AND other outdoor play ideas at the Outdoor Play Party linky party!

I love it! The added sparkle was the perfect touch! fab photos too, and a great memory for Miss E
What a fun tea party! I LOVE the gown and sparkles. G had so much fun playing with mud...adding cups and saucers would be perfect for him - he loves anything to do with kitchen tools. E looks like she had a blast! :)
What a wonderful tea party! This activity would be the perfect compromise for my two girls - one who loves to be a princess, and one who loves to get down and dirty!
Oh she is A-dor-ra-ble!!! You do have to wear the proper attire to a tea party :-) and she looks like she had lots of fun.
Thanks for your kind comment and inviting us to the linky :-)
Oh this is a fab idea! It looks like your little one had such a great time - just look at the smile on her face. Thanks for the shout out too, this week, we have had loads of rain so they have dug a big hole & made a giant puddle!
I loooooove how messy Miss E got in her princess dress. That is fantastic fun
Now that is one oxymoron if I ever saw one, Rebekah! Glittery Mud. That sounds like the name of the coolest book that has never been written! :)
Mud plus princesses! What a combo! Lots of fun!
What gorgeous pictures of messy play for the princess! She does look like a princess, indeed! Love her giggles and smiles :-) God bless the lil girl :-)
Pinned it!
Love the sparkles!! We have a Mud Pie Kitchen planned on our Summer Bucket List but I'm kind of nervous and have been putting it off so far!
I really just love this. I have pinned it a few times, and just shared it. It is definitely our kind of tea party!
Beautiful photos! That looks like so much fun. The dress and the sparkles were great touches :)
You are such a fun mom. My kids would love playing in the mud... especially in fancy clothes!
